Click here to access the form to reserve your place. Click here for the bulletin On Sunday July, 5 th we will once again begin offering limited in-person worship to those who are interested in attending. Planning for this opportunity has been a very complicated process involving our own Covid-19 task force, our Bishop, the vestry, and your clergy and staff. Click here to link to a very thorough description of our decision making process, as well as the guidelines and procedures which will be put in place in order to provide the most safe and comfortable worship experience possible for our parishioners. What we do, we do in Love. This is the most important point . What we do, we do out of love, compassion, and for the protection of others in our Family of Faith. Please remain Flexible and Patient . As we reopen, we recognize that this is not perfect and there are many kinks” that still will need to be worked out. We also recognize that the number of cases is rising and that it is possible we will have to shut down our services and facilities once again. Live streamed services will continue indefinitely . Many of our parishioners, for many very understandable reasons, will still not feel comfortable coming to in-person worship services. Please do not feel pressured in any way and please know that your worship with us online is just as valid and valued. Making Reservations . Opportunity to sign up to attend services will be provided each week through a form that will be emailed. You may also call the church office. Currently, we can safely accommodate about 30 parishioners in the nave for worship. Once those 30 spots are filled parishioners may also sign up for overflow seating in Tharp Hall where the live stream service will be projected and communion can still be received. Attendance Restrictions . At this point, we are all aware of health guidelines and recommended restrictions for how we should operate in the public domain regarding age and immune-compromised people. Many of these recommendations are for your own safety. We trust that our parishioners will make their own informed decisions as to church attendance. When it comes to guidelines for the safety of others , we have clearly outlined who should not attend in-person worship in the guidelines linked above. Once again, I want to thank you all for your patience, flexibility, support, prayers, and love during this time. We sincerely appreciate and deeply miss all of you. I look forward to seeing and or hearing from you in the days to come in whatever way that may be. Blessings to you all! Stay safe and healthy. Please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions or if there is any way that we can be there for or serve you. God’s Peace and Hugs from afar, The Rev. Brett P. Cherie and Susan Building and Grounds Thanks to all the volunteers who came last Saturday morning to help us remove soil! It was a win-win as we were able to make room for the river rock and provide GOOD soil to the Outreach garden! We had at least a dozen folks of all ages and were able to move the soil in less than an hour! Helpers of all ages—it was wonderful to see the teamwork! On Saturday, July 11 , at 9:00 a.m. we will need volunteers to move the river rock! Thanks again to all those who came and helped. Contact Ray or Lois Threlkeld at 865 458-3231 if you have questions. Lois Weekly Environmental Care Notes You cannot get through a single day without having an impact on the world around you. What you do makes a difference, and you have to decide what kind of difference you want to make.” — Jane Goodall A.L.T.A.R. Concerts "A Little Time for Arts Refreshment" St. Elizabeth’s is delighted to announce a new community outreach project. Due to the Covid-19 virus, many fine artists are left without places to play, so once a month we will host an accomplished performer who will provide a fifteen minute prelude to our service, and the offertory and postlude. Last month we were happy to host Byron Moffett, guitarist. This Sunday (Note: prelude begins at 8:50 am) our artist is Alex Pride, trumpet. Alexander Pride is an accomplished trumpet player currently living in the Knoxville area. Originally from Cincinnati, Ohio, he attended the Cleveland Institute of Music, where he studied with the Principal Trumpet of the Cleveland Orchestra, Michael Sachs. After earning his Bachelor’s degree in Cleveland, he attended Rice University’s Shepherd School of Music and studied with Marie Speziale, formerly of the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra. Additional summer studies include the Aspen Music Festival, Music Academy of the West, and the inaugural Chosen Vale International Trumpet Seminar. He began playing trumpet in 5 th grade, and first studied with his father, Steven Pride, who is also a professional trumpet player. Alex currently performs frequently with the Cleveland Orchestra, the Cincinnati Symphony and the Knoxville Symphony. He has also performed extensively with the Charlotte Symphony, as well as abroad with the Hong Kong Philharmonic. This past year, he was living in Salt Lake City, Utah where he was the acting Utility Trumpet with the Utah Symphony. In 2018, he moved to Knoxville with his wife, Audrey, when she won a position as violinist with the Knoxville Symphony. Since moving here, they have enjoyed exploring the beautiful outdoors of eastern Tennessee. Together, they like cooking lots of new recipes and sampling the awesome breweries that Knoxville has to offer.
